Annual
Gathering
'Harmonizing with the Earth'
13-17 June
A
detailed programme will be available at the end of April.
Introduction
Native traditionalists of today understand and
demonstrate the importance of personal attitude toward the well-being of the
whole, with expressions of love, honour, and gratitude for our lives and all
others, seen and unseen, with whom we share this middle world.
The highest calling of the Shaman is to help maintain
and restore balance and harmony and thus relieve pain and suffering.
As with all shamanic healing, it is not limited to
‘curing’ a symptom, rather, it is aimed at bringing the whole system back
into balance – be it an individual, the land, or the Earth Herself, so that
each part can function harmoniously in relation to the whole.
In a world that is struggling to survive the abuses and
excesses of our species, it becomes abundantly clear that we must alter
course and embrace a more sustainable connection with this good Mother
Earth. Should we choose to engage with and honestly practice the time
honoured teachings, our endeavor starts now, in this space and at this
time. We need to bring to light what the compassionate spirits can teach us
about harmonious ways to heal the rift between Nature and ourselves.
The world view of Shamanism provides us with an
effective yet profound way to reconnect with Nature and with the power and
wisdom found in the spiritual world. The longevity and genius of Shamanism
is that it is not hidebound to methodology, Shamanism is always
metamorphosing in response to the current and ever changing circumstances of
the world.
With an open heart we can readily receive the gift of
core cross-cultural knowledge and practice in our search for what is needed
here and now. This may be something that is entirely new or something
ancient that remains relevant in this modern world. Regardless of its
origin, we can benefit from one of the primary strengths of Shamanism: its
inherent spontaneity.
As always, taking our lead from Spirit, we will open to
the truths as they become apparent, exploring the many paths that will
surely open for us through a wide variety of cross cultural shamanic
practices, ceremony and ritual.
